Ukulele Lessons at Chris K Music is a great starter instrument for any beginner and multi-instrumental students. Our method of Ukulele playing is fun, using a combination of chord building and music reading exercises to achieve the best results for any student. We focus on technique and concepts from the very beginning to build a strong musical foundation for any veteran and up-and-coming musicians. With the simple, yet sophisticated nature of the Ukulele, students will be able to play real music with only a few music lessons.
We also offer great tricks and tips to help Ukulele musicians in every musical setting.
Our main areas of focus are:
- Music and Chord Reading
- Lead Sheets and Vocal Charts
- Chord Construction and Music Theory
- Musical Styles including Pop, Rock, Hawaiian Folk , and many other popular styles of music.
- Strong emphasis on rhythms and musical timing.
- Transitioning from Guitar to Ukulele.
- Instrument Tuning and Guitar Repair
We currently use a set of customized materials for all chords, rhythms, and sheet music. Method books may include Play Ukulele Today and Absolute Beginners Ukulele.
All of our students are encouraged to talk about their individual musical goals and what they would like to learn, whether they are beginners, intermediate or advanced level.
Ukulele Lessons are available at the Chris K Music Studio in Mattoon IL, Arthur IL, and St. John’s Lutheran School.
