Percussion Lessons
Learn drum set and percussion from a true professional!
With over 20 years of drum set and percussion experience, Chris K Music offers an innovative and practical approach to a variety of percussion instruments. We use a customized method of rhythms, patterns, and universal techniques that may be applied to all percussion instruments, allowing students to learn new instruments at a fast pace. We also introduce new ideas to each instrument while reviewing recent concepts on a regular basis. We also review patterns and fills on a regular basis, making sure as new ideas are introduced, earlier concepts and skills will continue to be reinforced. Our strong foundation in reading music and developing “musical common sense” helps builds successful musicians for any music program or band.
Chris Keniley of Chris K Music is a certified VIC FIRTH Percussion and Drum Educator. He is also a member of the Hudson Music Teach Integration Program, and the Percussion Arts Society.
Students may choose from the following areas, or go with our complete method of percussion:
- Concert and Rudimental Snare Drumming (for technique and music reading)
- Mallet Percussion (or Piano Lessons)
- Hand Drumming (Congas, Djembe, Cajon, Bongos, etc.)
- Drum Set (for coordination and multiple instruments)
- Timpani
- Auxiliary Percussion (Tambourine, Triangle, Castanets, Wood Blocks, Cymbals, Suspended Cymbals, Cow Bells, etc)
- World Percussion (Tabla, Urdu, Didgeridoo, Rain Sticks, Whistles etc.)
